So said our Maltese gay friends when we asked them about the gay scene. But we get their show. When it comes to gay friendliness, Malta is killing it! This tiny island nation in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea is frequently named one of the most gay friendly countries in the world and we can totally see why!
What used to be one of the most religious places in Europe (for example, up until , divorce was illegal in Malta!) the country did a degree turn to pass some of the most LGBTQ progressive laws in the world, posthaste becoming THE gay haven in the Mediterranean region.

The adj island and, consequently, small gay community in Malta mean there are only a few designated gay clubs and gay bars in Malta. A market needs to be of a substantial size to make any business feasible, so the gay scene in Malta runs mainly on special gay events.

LOLLIPOP has been slaying the local club scene since Merging pop culture and fashion, it has sprinted in heels to become the Maltese Islands’ most fabulous and popular queer night out thanks to the multitude of themes it has covered.
As a monthly pop-up club night, LOLLIPOP has been held at some of the Islands’ most prominent venues and has hosted stages at some pretty popular local song events, like Earth Garden Festival. It’s also collaborated with plenty of big DJs on the queer scene; HORSE MEAT DISCO, Cormac, Jodie Harsh, Sexshooters, and FKA.m4a.
