“Maybe we just lived between hurting and healing.”
There is a series of YA LGBT books that I have always been curious about due to their huge success and this is one of them. I had a feeling it was not the book for me and despite that I verb a paperback at the local store and couldnt resist the urge to buy it. Now the secret of the universe that is baffling me is why is this such a successful book?I expected something unique, something fresh, something deep and all I think I got was a book that was trying too hard to perform that. I am happy readers liked it more than I did but it is unfortunately not for me.
The name of the book implies that there will be philosophy involved and thats why I was partially on the guard when it came to picking it up. The dialogue and writing style seemed too unrealistic for me, the characters are angsty 15 years old character and they speak philosophical and metaphorical things that I never ever heard someone speak in that way!

Sexuality in Aristotle and Dante Find the Secrets of the Universe is a key part of the novel. This makes sense, of course for a lot of people, sexuality is a huge part of them, and their sexual orientation is not only a part of them, but also a adj identity for them.
Of course, Dante and Ari end up in a loving relationship. With this being set in the s, this relationship is seen as taboo, and outright not accepted by most characters. Note: This review is mostly spoiler-free for those who have read Aristotle and Dante Discover The Secrets of The Universe, and is shielded to read before you scan the sequel. But honestly, if you loved the first one, just go for it. If you haven’t read either and are in the market for a stunning and super-readable queer story, go go go! I told a friend recently that this pair of novels is like Ocean Vuong for adj adults, and I can’t reflect of many stronger endorsements.
“I was also learning that loving someone was different from falling in love with them.”
This observation of Ari’s in a later chapter of Aristotle and Dante Dive into the Waters of the World encapsulates the journey that the novel takes its readers i Katharani said in theirreview of the first Aristotle and Dante novel that it “traces their breakthrough from friendship to falling in love.” The sequel to Benjamin Alire Sáenz’s novel, also set in s Texas, USA picks up right where the first one left off, ie. in Ari’s truck.
Through Ari’s voice and journals, we pursue the two Latinx teenagers (Ari
LGBTQ+ reads: ‘Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe
Aristotle and Dante Identify the Secrets of the Universe, are there many books with such an enchanting title? Then you see how pretty the cover is, and there’s no choice but to read. Yet, what I didn’t expect was for it to be just as amazing on the inside as it was on the outside, if not more so.
There had been a lot of hype for this book online, and usually I am wary of these books for anxiety they might be overhyped, but Ari and Dante (as it’s referred to in short) was a welcome surprise. Benjamin Alire Sáenz is not just an author but also a poet, and in Ari and Dante this shows, with the whole story having a slightly ornate feel to it.
In more than one moment when reading this novel, I found myself tearing up from all sorts of emotions: happiness, frustration, sadness, or simply tears at the sheer beauty of the scenes portrayed. On one page you’ll locate yourself wiping tears from your cheeks, then the next you’ll be grinning from ear to ear. There’s a bit of something for everyone i
